Original, straight-up OG Garlic Salt is a delicious blend of sea salt flakes and delicious garlic granules. Our ratio is a farm secret, but it's the second reason our garlic salt is so addictive. The first is our garlic powder, which is grown and dehydrated right here on our family farm, with love.
Kangaroo Island Fresh Garlic's blends are made right here on our farm, using our very own blend of dehydrated fresh Australian Garlic and the finest South Australian sea salt. The result? A super tasty seasoning that can make almost any dish taste even better!
How Does Kangaroo Island Fresh Garlic Make Garlic Salt?
We have commercial dehydrators right here on our family farm. So, we prepare our fresh garlic ready for dehydrating and then get right to work. From there, we blitz the dehydrated garlic into a powder. Some of this powder is sold as-is, but some gets mixed into sea salt flakes to become our famous, fan-favourite, garlic salts.
For our flavoured garlic salts, it's the same deal, but we also dehydrate, blitz, and add in fresh local rosemary, wattleseed, chilli, or pepper (depending on the salt).
What's the Difference Between Garlic Powder and Garlic Salt?
The key difference is salt, making one an in-recipe seasoning and one a multi-use seasoning.
Garlic powder is dehydrated garlic that has been blitzed into a powder. The fine consistency of the powder lets it melt into dishes quickly, adding garlicky flavour without any additional texture. It's the most concentrated and garlicky of the dehydrated garlics.
