Got your hands on a delicious tomato soup and looking to add some flavour to your accompanying grilled cheese? We've got the answer: It’s a grilled cheese from the frying pan, with house-made garlic and herb butter.

We're going to assume you know how to make a grilled cheese (frying pan, sandwich one side, flip, make sure cheese is melted...). But here's our favourite butter/herb mix with things you probably already have in your pantry.

Ingredients

200g Softened Salted Butter*
1tsp Dried Parsley
1tsp Dried Oregano
1-2tsp Garlic Powder
Cheese**
Good bread***

Method

  1. Mix the softened butter and herbs until combined. If it's looking a little light on flavour, add more of whatever your heart desires.
  2. Give each piece of bread a solid buttering (this is for the outside!).
  3. Add your cheese, and fry the sandwich until golden brown and the cheese is melty.

Bon appetit!

* If you've only got unsalted butter, add 1/4 tsp of salt
** We recommend including hard mozzarella for that stringy goodness
*** Dealer's choice, we like a Milanese loaf
